As you have been notified in a recent email, I will be relocating my business to my hometown of Pittsburgh in December of this year. This was a hard decision for me to make, especially considering the fact that I've grown to love New England since moving here from Los Angeles in 2004. My decision to relocate to Pittsburgh, after giving it much thought for over a year now, is due to the fact that I feel the need to be closer to my aging parents. I'm blessed to still have them around, and though I visit as often as I can, it feels important to me to be closer and more accessible to them at this time in their lives.
You have all reminded me, by giving me the honor of witnessing and preserving your own family gatherings and celebrations, that family is irreplaceable. I've been away from my own family for a long time now, and my heart is telling me that some decisions are simply meant to be made by the heart. At this particular time in my life, this is one of those decisions.
I have loved my time here on the East coast, and I'll miss the beautiful New England countryside, seaside towns and extraordinary venues. I will especially miss Newburyport, where I've had the pleasure of living for the past four years. And I do plan on returning to this area to live in the future, as I can't imagine not coming back to such a beautiful part of the country. In many ways, much of my heart will remain here while I'm away.
I want to thank all of my clients here, who have given me the honor and privilege of being witness to all the celebration, happiness and emotion that can be found in a day as profound as a wedding day. It is a privilege I never take lightly, and I hope you will all remember the best moments of your wedding day when you look at your photographs. There is something about each one of your weddings that stands out in my memory, and I love to imagine the future generations of your own families looking over the images that were you, witnessed by me and my camera, on a tender and sacred day in your lives.
Please know that I will be accessible, by phone and by email, at any time. I will also be booking weddings here on occassion - especially same sex weddings, as they are not yet legal in Pennsylvania. It has especially been an honor for me to preserve a part of history here in Massachussetts, with these first years of legalized gay marriage in such a progressive state. I also want you to know that any outstanding album orders that have not yet been placed by you will be fulfilled according to our original contract. For those of you who have not yet honored the six month request for pre-paid album orders, your orders will be fulfilled on a first come first served basis.
And to my clients yet to be, in my new (and old) hometown of Pittsburgh, I very much look forward to taking great care of you! I can hardly wait to meet you, to hear about your events and celebrations, and to witness these moments of your lives with my heart, as well as my camera.
I am excited in advance for the images of your life yet to be taken by me, and grateful in advance for that honor.
All the Best,
Beth
